2nd Term Ticket Loss Fallout: Ambode’s Mother Suffers Stroke

Mother of the embattled Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, Madam Christiana Ambode is ill, ThePage has learnt.

Sources close to the mother of the Lagos state number one citizen hinted that the 86 year old mother took ill at the inception of his son’s hassles with the All Progressive Congress leadership in the state over the ticket to  contest election that would  enable  him run for a second term in office.

Thepage sources mentioned that as the resultant gang up against Ambode over the second term ticket flourished, the bedridden mother’s condition grew worse .

This, it was further gathered, generated a kind of anxiety among close relatives privy to her poor state of health.

Popularly called Iya Eleja because of her successful fish selling business, the development over the Governor’s mother health was closely guided as it was known  only to  few close people in Epe who were quick to notice her continued absence from church  as she is  restricted more to her Gbagada home.

An avowed worshipper , she is noted within her Epe, Anglican church for  her penchant for praise and using every opportunity to extol the virtues of her God.

It was gathered that soon after it became evident that her son would not secure a second term ticket,  the health of  the mother, who in May this year had a lavish birthday celebration,  deteriorated further,  even as Thepage gathered that  she started manifesting the symptoms  stroke.

Sources further confirmed that efforts  have been raised to ensure her health is restored as soon as possible, as she is receiving necessary medical attention needed to restore her health back  to perfection.
