Men of the Special Strike Force on Social Miscreants established by the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu have arrested 21 cult suspects at Adamo community, Imota.
The suspects who belong to two rival cult groups, Aiye and Eiye confraternity, mobilised from Emure and Adamo communities to unleash terror on residents of Adamo community and environs.
The arrest which was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, Bala Elkahna, was carried out in a joined operations with operatives from Imota Police Station, Rapid Response Squad, Special Anti Robbery Squad and Area N Command.
The Page News gathered that the operation is a follow up to the Operations carried out at Ijede where 65 cult suspects were arrested.
Eleven assorted pistols of different calibre with large quantity of ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
The suspects, the Page gathered, confessed to be responsible for series of violent attacks, murder and armed robbery incidents recorded in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested three Traffic Robbery Suspects and a gang that specialises in stealing g vehicles in churches, following a sustained monitoring.
Police operatives deployed to Ipaja area on anti traffic robbery patrol (motorcycle patrol) , have arrested three traffic robbery suspects, 19 year old Hassan Lekan , 18 year old Owolabi Seyi and Ismailia Ibrahim also19 Years old.
The suspects specialised in snatching hand bags, phones and money from unsuspecting members of the public. They mostly operate between 04:00am and 07:00am. Items recovered from them includes phones and bags they snatched from three different victims.
In a related development, operative from Ipaja division have arrested two notorious suspects who specialised in car snatching and stealing vehicles from parking spaces mostly in worship centres.
The suspects are Bamidele Adebayo and Hakeem Taofik , the suspects stole a Toyota corola saloon car at a church in Shagari Estate Ipaja and moved the vehicle to Ijagba village in Sango Ota, Ogun State.
Detectives from Ipaja Police Station recovered have recovered the vehicles.
