The Celestial Church of Christ’s family has been thrown into confusion following reports suggesting the possibility of the 2018 edition of the annual Imeko Day celebration not holding as scheduled.
Crisis started Monday morning ,when a message purportedly by Deputy Pastor Adebayo surfaced on social media that : BOT should disallow announcement of Imeko 2018 worldwide by ex-pastor M . Oschoffa for supreme court announcement Dep Pastor Adebayo O.
The message which caused panic among members of the church immediately heightened apprehension among the Celestial family especially because, as a stakeholder puts it, the multi million naira individual and Corporate preparation so far put into the Imeko day celebration would be wasted adding that , the message suggests that the unity war within the fold that is believed to have been won may be raising its ugly head again
Besides, the stakeholder who does not want to be quoted said members would naturally become apprehensive because ” this shows that some people may still be up to some kind of mischief within the fold “
Thepage gathered that of major concern to members was the mention of the supreme court in the message, thus, suggesting that the leadership crisis in the church may still be raging despite the seemingly peace being experienced in the church of late.
Dismissing the message as unfounded and a ploy by some elements to cause confusion, a leader in the church who craved anonymity said ” to the best of my knowledge, I don’t think there is any ongoing legal action that could affect Imeko day celebration.
” Whatever rancour we thought we had among the leadership of the church was settled at the last Imeko day celebration. So, if somebody is talking about a Supreme court case now, then there must be problem somewhere and I think the Imeko day celebration is the target because if the day is messed up, the entire Celestial church is messed up”
Recall that The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Nigeria Diocese had announced that its 15 years leadership crisis had been resolved.
The announcement was made during a briefing in commemoration of the 70 years of existence of Church.
