As anxiety continue to mount over tomorrow’s presidential and National Assembly elections in the country, report reaching The page indicate that the All Progressive Congress controlled state of Kogi has remained forbidden for opposition figures in the state.
As at the time of filling this report, about 100 influential members of the opposition are alleged to have been picked and locked up in the last 8 days.
It was also gathered that it has been impossible for opposition candidates to gain entrance into the state as the Kogi State police command under the guise of preventing influx of fake security men from entering the state have blocked Sen. Dino Melaye, the PDP Senatorial candidate for Kogi West and Ms Natasha Akpoti , the SDP candidate for Kogi Central in tomorrow election from entering the state.
Also the spokesman of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Council in Kogi State, Austin Okhai has been arrested by Security agents and whisked to unknown destination.
The APC controlled state government is suspected to be behind the clamp down on the members of opposition.
The page also reliably gathered that the PDP’ s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, who is from Kogi had to sneak into the state unnoticed as he had to disguise to enter the state earlier to enable him vote tomorrow as, according to a source, “there have been serious hunt for opposition figures in the state prior to the February 16 original election date, but the hunt was intensified this morning with the focus more on influential figures of the opposition parties that could work against the interest of the APC”
