Group Unveils Citizens’ Polls Monitoring App, “Polls Parrot

A pro-democracy group, the Coalition for Clean Polls (CCP), has unveiled an online application (App), Polls Parrot, for the monitoring of the 2019 General Elections, which start with the presidential election this Saturday, February 16.

The group in a statement by its Policy Director, Chidinma Igwe, said the Citizens’ Polls Monitoring App is designed and deployed to promote transparency and enhance the credibility of the electoral process.

She said: “We see this as our own little way of contributing to the growth of democracy in Nigeria. With the application, citizens can go through their android mobile phones or any other web appliances to report incidents, observe going-on at the polling stations, report results already posted by INEC, as required by the law.”

She added that, “Nigerians should use their mobile phones to freely download the App called Polls Parrot. Reports sent in from across the country will be uploaded in real-time on www.”

The group therefore urged Nigerians to troop out en-masse to exercise their franchise and that they should also take the advantage of the technology – Polls Parrot – to ensure that their votes count at the end of day
