In any sane society, it is the responsibility of government to take care of the less privileged and the physically challenged who are disadvantaged towards making ends meet like the deaf and dumb, blind, cripple among others.
However, in this part of the World, ”Nigeria” and other African Nations in particular, the government has failed in its responsibility to the physically challenged and less privileged generally.
It is in the light of these act of selflessness, and reaching out to the down trodden, that the CEO of Welcome Disability UK LTD and Focus On Disability Nigeria/UK, Mr Abiodun Enilari Paseda has taken it upon himself and his team to lead the change, and change the narrative which the government has been playing overtime.
In a recent media chart, Paseda revealed more on the journey so far in this act of philanthropy, especially on the newly built Home for the disables tagged; ” Focus On Disability Foundation Home For Children With Disabilities”.
Paseda speaks on the journey so far and gave insight into the future. How Focus on Disability Foundation Home is empowering, encouraging and engaging the less privileged in Nigerian society by working to represent the needs of the people with disabilities in Africa and to access services, participate in society and live more fulfilling lives.
Details Of the media encounter is presented below:
Q:Let the readers meet you Sir.
A: My name is Abiodun Enilari Paseda, the Founder of Focus on Disability Foundation and CEO at Welcome Disability Limited, United Kingdom. I founded, Focus on Disability Foundation 2010 due to my passion for the less privileged, and the people with disability in Africa.
I’m based in the United Kingdom, and since I realized the way the people with disability are treated abroad compared to the country i was born. I wasn’t that happy. So i now said, I am going to include the people with disabilities in my charitable work.
Since 2010, we have made a lot of differences in the lives of people with disability. Presently we are working with 25 Special schools in Nigeria. We have schools in Kaduna, Kano, Oyo State, Ogun State, Delta State, and throughout Nigeria.
We are working with 25 specials schools, supporting them with educational materials, disability aids. And the good news is that we’ve just completed a 10 Room Residential Home. Free Residential Home for people with disability in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State; where presently we’re accommodating 15 people, children with disability.
So, I can see charity or focus on disability going places, because in the last 10 years, we’ve made a lot of differences and we still, and planning, hoping to make life better for people with disability in Nigeria.
Since Nigerian government is finding it hard, you know, to sign into law. The Laws to support people with disability, as an individual. The issue really is that, Iike others with no physical challenge, I’m just privileged. The people that you know they have one disability, one form of disability or the other, It is not their wish. So seeing myself as being privileged. What difference do I want to make in the life of these special people, I call them special people because, to me they are special. So we rely on the support of, you know, the generosity of friends, family, our work speaks for us. People can go on our websites at www.fodfoundation.com, where you’ll be impressed to see some of the lives we have changed and still changing.
Q: it is not really easy to feed children, to eat three square meals per day, how are you doing it
A:: Firstly I would like to say thank you to Almighty God, because without God we wouldn’t have been where we are. The new residential home that we’ve built wouldn’t have been.
Secondly, I have the best team in the UK, Nigeria and Ghana, you know. So I am not doing this alone as the founder, they’ve been giving me full support. And to all our supporters out there that have been supporting us one way or the other financially, supporting us with food stuffs, and everything, we say thank you. I pray that God Almighty will bless you or your family.
Q: Where do you see Focus on Disability in the next five years
A: Well, God has the final say but with the achievements of Focus on Disability in the last 10 years. I see focus on disability going places.
Presently, I can say proudly that focus on disability is known, you know, in some countries, but I believe in the next few years it will be known worldwide. Our work speak for us, it speaks for us. Thank you.
There are still many Nigerians and people of diverse race and culture all over the World, who have good heart towards giving to the less privileged. This is an opportunity to add your name to the team who are making humanity a better place to live, not minding any individual circumstances.

THE COMPLICITY OF NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER IN CORRUPTION AND BANDITRY IN ZAMFARA STATE
During the 8-year reign of former Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State , there is hardly a week the state is not in the news for either killings of scores of Zamfarans or kidnapping of them in large numbers. So bad it was during his tenure that the only presence of security is the escort services provided by security agents for workers on Yari’s farm.
It is despicable and rather unfortunate that a man who is battling to clear his name from many allegations of fraud and unprecedented corruption in Zamfara is seen flying around in a Nigerian Airforce Jet.
Mungono’s lackluster performance to rejig the security architecture which has led to breakdown of law and order has portrayed the Presidency in bad light as failing in its duty to provide security and welfare of its citizenry.
The approval of the use of NAF jet by Abdulaziz Yari which allegedly came from the office of the National Security Adviser further lent credence to the claims among Nigerians that the APC-led government is not serious about fighting corruption and insecurity.
Assuming without conceding that Yari facilitated the use of the aircraft on his own, one wonders an emergency situation that would warrant a former governor enjoying such luxury even when the allegations of corrupt enrichment is still hanging on his neck.
The National Security Adviser has yet again confirm the call for his removal over incompetence and that the reason for his call and advise for the declaration for a “No fly Zone” in Zamfara is unprofessional, partisan and may not be to secure the country as he would want people to believe.

Rural Resident Expresses Satisfaction On Jumia Service Delivery
At the current pace, there’s no denying the improved fortune of eCommerce in Africa. Even the most ardent doubters of eCommerce viability on the continent will accept that the online shopping business is gaining momentum on the continent, contrary to their forecast and expectations.
Major African markets like Nigeria and Kenya are improving their internet penetration while the number of mobile phone users is rising exponentially. This, in turn, is boosting the online market entrants in urban locations and gradually rubbing off on rural settlements.
As a result, the conversation around eCommerce in a major market like Nigeria has gravitated from doubts on feasibility and acceptance to quality of service delivery, customers expectations and satisfaction. With at least 87 e-commerce platforms in Nigeria, the online shopping community is increasing by the day with innovation and bespoke approaches to address the challenges of the market and meet customers expectations.
In the thick of this, some customers are already having a glimpse of what eCommerce offers at its peak, thanks to the effort of key market players. Iteshi Prince Izuchukwu, a businessman based in Rivers State said he likes shopping online because of the price slash. Based on his experience with several online shopping platforms, he was quick to acknowledge the extra effort of Africa’s market leader on its quality of service delivery. “Things I order include Television, Wristwatches and others. When I buy these items on Jumia, they deliver on time and in good condition,” he stated.
In today’s market where customers demand value for every penny spent, a well thought out packaging that meets the aesthetic taste of the customers can spell a huge impact on the eCommerce business. It can help reduce the volume and cost of return, foster customer loyalty and put the brand in the face of prospects. “I always feel happy when what I ordered is being delivered to me. And as a businessman, I want value for money which I can say I am getting on a platform like Jumia,” Izuchukwu said.
With continuous effort by eCommerce brands to meet customers’ quality, timely and packaging expectations in their service delivery, testimonials like this will go a long way in getting more people onboard the online shopping train.
