Merit Entertainment Set To Shake Movie Scene  With Free Talent Hunt.

The movie industry in Nigeria is expected to witness a great revolution soon, as Merit Entertainment in tandem with Fullsteam Entertainment and Royal Waters Records roll out a peculiar talent hunt scheme.

With participants expected to pick up their application forms without any financial commitment, organisers of the project explained that, with the scheme, fresh faces are expected to emerge in the various departments of the movie industry.

According to the Project’s coordinator, Mr Faleye Simon, Merit Entertainment is scouting for  green but talented  actors, comedians,  set designers, makeup artistes, movie directors among others to nurture to stardom.

” Merit Entertainment discovered over time that there are talents out there looking for assistance to blossom.

” That is why the Merit Talent hunt is in place, to identify these talents and integrate them into our developmental  programme which is bound to expose them to the world.

Further, he disclosed  that already there is a movie project on ground which will immediately engage successful applicants in the talent hunt project.

” Merit Entertainment is a movie empire of sort, that is why successful applicants who are unable to get a place in the immediate project will be given employment opportunities so every successful applicant will gain something from the scheme”

According to Simeon, interested applicants can pick their form for free at Passion  Studio, 2B Babatunde Ladega Street, Omole Phase 1, Ojodu. Lagos between 10 in the morning and 4 in the evening every work days.

He said   the auditioning proper is set to hold on  the 27 to 31st of May this year.

Wizkid Gets Double Nominations For 2022 Grammy Awards

Grammy award-winning music star, Wizkid has earned two nominations for the 64th Grammy Awards.

On Tuesday, the Recording Academy announced the nominations for each of the 86 categories of the 2022 GRAMMYs scheduled for January 31, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater.

Wizkid bagged two nominations in the Best Global Music Performance and Best Global Music Album categories.

Wizkid’s hit collaboration with Tems, ‘Essence,’ got a nomination in the Best Global Music Performance while his fourth studio album, ‘Made in Lagos’ earned a nomination in the Best Global Music Album.

In 2021, Wizkid won his first Grammy award for his collaborative effort with Beyonce on the song, ‘Brown Skin Girl,’ off her 2019 album, The Lion King album.

ThrillerbandZ Music Challenge Rejuvenate Liveband Music In Nigeria

The ThrillerbandZ Music Challenge will be taking place at the National Theatre on Friday 17th December to 18th December. The primary objective of the LiveBand Challenge is to showcase an important aspect of our musical heritage for development into a viable Cultural product.

 

The initiative is to boost the composition of meaningful lyrics and lively songs, quality dance styles, stage appeal as well as excellent performances to delight music patrons even beyond the shores of Nigeria.

The 12 hours back to back music concert is put together by Evergreen Musical Company Ltd in Partnership with National Theatre.

Livebands play prominent roles in our day to day social activities ie weddings, burials, birthday, naming ceremonies, religious and Political conventions, etc.

 

Not less than 50 Livebands are expected to compete to showcase their musical appeal to thrill , pleasure and dazzle the audience and African music Aficionados in a relaxed environment with unique ambience , colourful lightnings, savory culinary delights and drinks.

 

This event which is no doubt a first of it’s kind event in Nigeria will overtime become a veritable platform that will help to boost authentic African music repertoire and tourism in Nigeria.

 

During the just Concluded Press Conference which held at the National Theatre Marquee the Lagos State Government represented by the amiable SA, Tourism, Art and Culture , Mr Solomon Bonu promised full Sponsorship support and commitment of the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration for the event.

 

Some of the performers particularly amongst the youths showed their high hopes and expectations on the pleges made by the Babajide Olusola -Olu‘s administration through the SA, Tourism.

According to Bimbo Esho the brain behind this initiative she said outstanding performers shall win laurels, fantastic cash prizes and musical instruments and many talents shall be exposed to the media and record labels.
