The Internal Memo That Nailed Him
+ Tinubu’s Failed Peace Move.
The Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC) , Adams Oshiomole is currently enmeshed in a dirty case of perjury which has pitched him against the party’s National Legal Adviser, Babatunde Ogala and other members of the National Working Committee.
According to Thepage sources, trouble started for Oshiomole following a memo fired at him by the Party’s Legal Adviser after a peace move initiated by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had failed. The effect of the resultant memo which has set the NWC members against the Chairman is being down played to prevent it from being hijacked by the opposition as according to a source, “we will have a bad case of perjury on our hands if not carefully handled.”
According to the memo addressed to the Chairman himself by Ogala, he accused the Chairman of intentionally usurping his functions as the Legal Adviser and ” deliberate encroachment on my office and attempt to undermine my person and my office “
According to ogala in his memo to Oshiomole, his deliberate effort at sidelining him has landed the party in a perjury case which he (Ogala) decided to be silent on because of his love for the party.
Ogala mentioned in his memo that Oshiomole had displayed total disrespect for his office at the earlier stage of the life of their tenure, which necessitated the Intervention of APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Following Asiwaju’s intervention, Ogala said Oshiomole apologised, adding however that he later realised that it was not a sincere apology, as he went ahead to do worse than his previous acts.
Even though in the previous acts, the Chairman was accused of using legal firms unknown to the party to handle briefs for the APC without the knowledge of the Legal department, the last straw came following the decision of Oshiomole to use the National Welfare Secretary of the party to pursue a case against the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, which was not discussed by the NWC, but made the Welfare Secretary lied on oath that he had the authority of the NWC.
The Welfare Secretary, Ibrahim Kabir Masari according to the memo ,without the authority of the NWC, acted on behalf of the legal department by instituting a case against INEC thereby committing perjury because he was not representing the NWC.
Oshiomole was also accused of acting alone on the Zamfara Primary election issue over which Ogala claimed to have approached the Chairman to discuss it ” despite the fact that you had sought advise elsewhere without my knowledge “
Stating that he had gone this length only out of respect for the constitution of the party and internal cohesion of the NWC , Ogala told the Chairman in his memo that his immediate reaction would have been to proceed to court and depose to the true fact that the deponent was not saying the truth but decided to act against that for the sake of the party.
Apparently poised for a fight back, Ogala told Oshiomole he would not sit back and watch his official and constitutional responsibilities being usurped nor the party constitution desecrated .
” I dare say this act is one too many and will not sit back and watch my official and constitutional responsibilities being usurped nor the party constitution being desecrated as National Legal Adviser.
” I was elected to protect the party Constitution and not to have same disobeyed at will” Ogala told Oshiomole.
