The General Overseer of the popular Lagos based Daystar Christian Assembly, Pastor Sam Adeyemi has added his voice to the numerous calling for the restructuring of the country.
Adeyemi a teacher of wealth creation and advocate of entrepreneurial activities, on Wednesday took to his twitter page to canvas a return the regional system of government which he said, saw parts of the country recording monumental developments.
According to the Cleric, restructuring the country is a constitutional issue which he opined should be addressed for necessary changes needed to advance the nations to be available.
He observed that wealth creation and individual advancements have become very difficult since 1966 when the regional system of government operational prior to the time was brushed aside, suggesting that a change could be effected with a reverse to the old order if the system take advantage of the current democratic setting to tinker with the constitution to suit the restructuring of the country.
Making the call on his twitter page, Adeyemi said ” It has been very difficult for states, business and individuals to create wealth and develop since power was eroded from the regions in 1966,due to control by the Federal government. Its a constitutional issue, will you work to change this structure? #Democracy.”
Recall that in its manifesto towards the 2015 general elections, the President Buhari led government of the All Progressive Congress (APC) promised to restructure the country, but rescinded on the promise on assuming power.
As another election holds in February next year, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) former vice president Atiku Abubarka has promised to restructure the country within 12 months of assuming office, if elected.
