The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the Idanre/Ifedore, Ondo state’s House of Representatives seat, Hon. Kayode Akinmade has described the success of the party’s recently concluded convention in Port Harcourt as a significant sign of good things to happen to “our great party and an instructive signal and great foundation for more successes”
In his congratulatory message to the leadership of the party and members of the convention committee, made available to Thepage, Akinmade said the successful outcome of the convention which produced former Vice president Atiku Abubarka as its presidential candidate “is a clear indication, that the party is ready more than ever before, to take its rightful place in the nation’s polity.
According to Akinmade ” all contestants at the just concluded convention demonstrated their readiness to present a united and determined party to the people ahead of the 2019 general elections”
This he said, will also go a long way in demonstrating before the people that, the PDP is ready to restore the fortunes of the country and set it, once again, on the path of glory.
The successful Journalist and image manager who said he ventured into politics to serve, mentioned in his message that at the convention, “I saw committed and loyal party men who aspired for the ticket to contest election for our nation’s number one political office, not for selfish reasons, but for the opportunity to serve.
“This gladdens my heart and gives me the confidence that the aspirants commitment and selflessness won’t go unnoticed by the people and I sincerely believe this will count for gain for us at the general elections in 2019”
While congratulating the national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus on the successful organisation of the party’s National Convention, Akinmade also praised
the party members and delegates from the 36 states of the federation including FCT for conducting themselves in a peaceful and democratic manner and freely electing their choice aspirant during the convention.
The former Commissioner for Information who implored fellow party members not to relent on the “self and corporate reformations” being witnessed in the party, said, he has further been inspired by the conduct of members at the convention, to be a good ambassador of the party as a candidate to the Idanre/ Ifedore constituency seat in the House of Representatives and “by the grace of God and the assured mandate of my people, a working and reliable representative of my people at the House of Representatives, to the glory of God and our great party”.
