Indications have emmerged to the effect that the All Peoples Congress (APC) Chairman, Adams Oshiomole’s decision to overrule the initial cancellation of the Tuesday Primary election in Lagos by the supervising National Working Committee was bouyed by the advise from Presidency.
According to a Special Adviser to President Buhari, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Vice President Proffessor Yemi Oshibajo had advised after the election that it was smooth enough to be cancelled.
In a post on his facebook page at about midnight on Tuesday, Ojudu said “Information reaching us this afternoon is that Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is calling on State and National APC leaders to work together and ensure that today’s voting in Lagos should be honored as long as it is free and fair.
“There has been a lot of confusion about the election especially after APC national team released a statement that the voting did not follow agreed guidelines.
“However before this, results of the voting had been widespread all over the social media from ward to ward.
” Sources close to APC headquarters said the VP had been advising that the best thing in the circumstances is to honor the polls except there is compelling evidence of irregularities and violation of electoral laws.”
