Team Nigeria Will Conquer World Junior Circuit (WJC) and African Junior and Cadet Championship (AJCC)

There is no doubt that Nigeria will conquer Africa at the African Junior Cadet Championship and the World Junior Circuit to hold in Ghana on the first to thirteen of April at the Sport Emporium, Accra.

Nine other Africa nations are expected to participate at the Events, with Egypt as the only challenger to Team Nigeria.

But in 2017 at the Egypt Junior Cadet in Sharm El-Sheikeh , now fourteen years old , Taiwo Mati won the cadets boys single events and Hopes Boys Single Title defeating  Tunisia’s Youssef Ben Attia, the top seed, (11-7, 11-3, 13-15, 11-9, 11-7); and Egypt’s Moamen Salaheldin (11-1, 14-12, 11-6) respectively .

Same year at the 2017 Seamaster Nigeria Open, he was named the most improved player reaching the main draw of both the Men’s Singles and Under 21 Men’s Singles events.

Taiwo Mati is tipped to be Aruna Quadri’s long successor.

The fourteen years old is amongst the quartet of Nigeria’s cadet team, which includes Jamiu Ayanwale and the Mustapha brothers, who were the youngest players at the Nigeria Open last year.

If you are looking for an headliner at the African Junior and Cadet Championship , it should be definitely no other than  Jamiu Ayanawale , one of the most popular Junior player , notoriously known as ‘’ Maya “ .

Maya is two times National Junior Champion and the most improved home based player at Nigeria Open last year.

Representing the junior team at the tournament is Azeez Solanke, Augustine Emmanuel, Abayomi Animashaun.

Abayomi Animashaun was part of the team that came second at the 2015 ITTF World Junior Circuits in Egypt, behind host nation Egypt with a total of seven medals – four gold and three bronze medals.

Animasahun defeated Egypt’s Yehia Saad 3-0 in the mini cadet boys’ singles final, to complete the category is Augustine Emmanuel, who represented Team Lagos at 19th National Sport Festival and Azeez Solanke, whose profile is larger than the content of this article.

Azeez Soalnke is the leading the contingent.

Representing Nigeria in the female category is Vivian Oku, Rofiat Jimoh and Iyanuoluwa Falana, who will slug it out in the junior girls’ team while Sukurat Aiyelabegan and Sadiat Akeem will compete in the cadet girls’ team event.
